AFRICA/ZIMBABWE - Appointment of the National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies, Fr. Kizito T. Nhundu

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On May 14, 2021 Cardinal Luis Antonio G. Tagle, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, appointed Fr. Kizito Takaendesa Nhundu, of the clergy of the archdiocese of Harare as National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) in Zimbabwe for a five-year period (2021-2026).
The new National Director was born on 28 August 1978 and was ordained a priest on 4 August 2007 in Mahusekwa, Chiota. After his primary and secondary studies, he attended the Pre-seminary in Mazowe in 1998, then studied philosophy and therology at Chishawasha and St, Augustine Seminary. After his ordination he was parish priest in several parishes. Since January 2021 he has been parish priest in St. Francis Xavier, in Braeside. Among the other positions held: deacon, coordinator of diocesan pastoral care, consultant, spiritual assistant of adult organizations. (SL) (Agenzia Fides, 10/6/2021)
