Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On March 26, 2021 Cardinal Luis Antonio G. Tagle, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, appointed Fr. Thomas Shin Woo Sick, of the clergy of the diocese of Wonju as National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) in Korea for a five-year period (2021 -2026).
The new National Director was born in 1973 and was ordained a priest on January 15, 2002. He holds a licentiate (2005) and a doctorate (2009) in dogmatic Theology at the Gregorian University. He was parish Vicar and Parish priest in various parishes, Director of the pastoral Ministry and Rector of the Wongju Institute of Catechetics, Secretary of the Bishop, Secretary of the Commission for Catechesis of the Korean Bishops' Conference. Since 2020 he has been Undersecretary of the Episcopal Conference, Secretary of the Episcopal Commission for the Doctrine of the Faith and of the Episcopal Commission for the Clergy.
