Krakow (Agenzia Fides) - The Pious Disciples of the Divine Master of Poland are committed to helping seminarians in mission countries. On Good Shepherd Sunday, World Day of Prayer for Vocations, the project "Tailor-made Vocations" began, which will be carried out together with the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS), as explained by Sister M. Damaris Suchenia, Provincial Superior of the Pious Disciples of the Divine Master. As explained in the note sent to Fides, it is stated that the sisters agree to offer one percent of the profits from the sale of each priestly surplice to support the formation of seminarians in mission countries. The project will last one year. "We are pleased to be able to begin the project precisely with Good Shepherd Sunday. Together with the Pontifical Mission Societies, we wish to give support to seminarians in mission countries", adds Sister M. Damaris Suchenia. The Pious Disciples of the Divine Master distinguish themselves for their apostolate at the service of the liturgy and the priestly and Eucharistic mission, for which the project "Tailor-made Vocations" is fully in line with their charism. "I hope that the project will bear spiritual fruits for seminarians from all over the world", adds Fr. Maciej Będziński, National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies in Poland. "We are pleased to be able to collaborate with the Pontifical Mission Societies, and therefore with Pope Francis, who is concerned that the Churches of mission countries develop and that we have many vocations. Thanks to the sale project, the centers of the Liturgical Apostolate will acquire a missionary dimension", underlines Sister M. Violetta Tarka, provincial treasurer of the Congregation. "Good Shepherd Sunday is a special time to support vocations in Poland and around the world. I would like to encourage everyone to pray and make an offering for the more than 80,000 seminarians in mission countries. Good Shepherd Sunday is also the patronal feast of the Pontifical Society of Saint Peter the Apostle - explains the National Director of the PMS -, one of the four Pontifical Mission Societies, which focuses on the commitment to priestly and religious vocations in the Young Churches of Mission Countries". The Pontifical Mission Societies in Poland finance two missionary seminaries: the San Juan M. Vianney Major Seminary in the Diocese of Moramanga, Madagascar, and the San Agustín Major Seminary in the Apostolic Vicariate of Iquitos, Peru. Last year, the Pontifical Mission Societies in Poland sent 76 603, 69 USD as aid to seminarians in mission countries. (AS/SL) (Agenzia Fides, 30/04/2021)
