Toronto (Agenzia Fides) - The Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) of French-speaking Canada have published the first issue of Univers magazine for 2021, which collects articles on the work of the PMS in Canada and around the world.
Among other things, the current issue contains an article on the subject of "Pauline Jaricot, role model for the church of the 21st century" about the young French woman's missionary commitment as an inspiration for the present day. The Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples also commented on the Pope's message on World Mission Day. The magazine of the Pontifical Mission Societies in Canada is also appearing online for the first time, but is still available in print and the subscription is free.
"The charism of the Pontifical Mission Societies", it says on the homepage of the Pontifical Mission Societies in Canada, "which further develops the original idea of its founder Pauline Jaricot, can be summarized as follows: we want to put the whole people of God in a state of constant mission, that is to say, we draw attention to the vocation of ecclesiastical solidarity and charity in evangelization, without forgetting that the Church, from its origins in and through the impulse of the Spirit, is missionary and must therefore remain missionary".
