Taipei (Fides Service) - To encourage the study of the Bible the John Duns Scotus Bible Reading Promotion Centre in Taiwan has started several new initiatives including a daily Mass at lunch time for office worker Catholics, a weekly Bible Study meeting and an Itinerant Course on St Mark’s Gospel. The Centre is run by Franciscans.
Christian Life Weekly said the initiatives started in March include: daily 12.30 Mass on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays for office workers: Friday evening Bible Study open also to non Christians; itinerant course on St Mark’s Gospel touring towns and villages in northern Taiwan.
Opened three years ago the John Duns Scotus Bible Reading Promotion Centre has launched Bible apostolate and established Bible study groups in Taipei, Tainan, Taitung, Changhua and Hualien. It has a weekly on line bulletin and its own web site http://ccreadbible.org . The aim of the centre to encourage study of the Bible and to help people meditate and pray the Bible.
