Iquitos (Agenzia Fides) - "Anthropology of the mission", "Recent history of the mission in the forest", "Curiosities about the missions", "Teaching to fish", are the latest titles to appear on the new Blog that an ever-growing group of young people has published during the pandemic to support missions in the Amazon region.
The missionary group is led by the Dominican Missionaries who have been working for many years in the Peruvian forest. Founded in 1966 as a mission in the Vicariate of Santa Rosa (Peru), the Missionary Association created by the Dominicans involved lay people and young people. During this last year, because of the Covid pandemic, young people have proposed the use of social networks and the Internet to reach more and more a part of the population inside and outside the Peruvian forest.
The Blog, which is accessible at www.jovenes.selvasamazonicas.org, offers written publications and reports of various meetings of missionaries in the area, offering a rich contribution to missionary action. The goal of the young people involved is in fact to help and financially support missions and make missionary action known to Spanish society and the Spanish-American world.
