ASIA/INDIA - Appointment of the Rector of the "St. Paul" interdiocesan Seminary in Tiruchirapalli

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On 9 December, 2020 Cardinal Luis Antonio G. Tagle, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, appointed Fr. Andrew De Rose, of the diocesan clergy of Tuticorin, as Rector of the "St. Paul" interdiocesan Seminary of the diocese of Tiruchirapalli (India).
The new Rector was born on November 30, 1961. After primary and secondary school, he attended the Little Flower Seminary in Tuticorin, then the Pontifical St. Peter's Seminary in Bangalore, where he studied philosophy and theology. He was ordained a priest on April 22, 1987 in the Cathedral of Tuticorin.
After his priestly ordination he carried out his ministry in various parishes, as an assistant parish priest and parish priest. Then he obtained a doctorate in canon law at the Pontifical Urbaniana University (1991-1995). Back in his homeland he was assistant parish priest, parish priest, chancellor and diocesan judge, vicar general, professor of canon law. (SL) (Agenzia Fides, 10/3/2021)
