Madrid (Agenzia Fides) - A rural school in Ávila won the competition of the Pontifical Society of Missionary Childhood (POSI) with "rap". For the eighth consecutive year, the Pontifical Children's Mission Societies in Spain organized a national music competition in order to promote the special creativity of children in this area and thus to make a contribution to the mission. On this occasion, the competition consisted of making short videos, in which the little ones had to illustrate the motto of this year's Missionary Childhood "With Jesus of Nazareth, we are a family!". A group of children attending the 4th to 6th year of the primary school in Mingorría-Velayos (Avila) won a rap on the subject of family, the "family rap". In the youngest category, the winner comes from the Diocese of Madrid. The winners of the two categories will receive a tablet, and the second and third place will each receive a Bluetooth speaker.
As reported by the Pontifical Mission Societies in Spain, the religious teacher invited the primary school children in Mingorría-Velayos to take part in the music competition for children, after which the pupils immediately got down to work with great commitment and the teachers were also enthusiastic about it. Inspired by the rap "Cadena de Bondades" for the Extraordinary Missionary Month, the children wanted to show with a rap again this year that family is the most important thing that children can have, so much so that God himself wanted a family. The music was composed and performed by children and is also accessible to the deaf with subtitles. When working in groups, the children learned above all that "all children have the right to a family," emphasize the Pontifical Mission Societies in Spain. (SL) (Agenzia Fides, 2/3/2021)
