La Paz (Agenzia Fides) - One year after the post-synodal Apostolic Exhortation "Querida Amazonia", the appeal to dream of an Amazon where the rights of the poorest, of indigenous peoples are still valid (See Fides, 12/7/2020).
A space where its cultural richness is preserved, where its natural beauty is preserved and where Christian communities give the Church new faces with Amazonian features.
"The Amazon is an irreplaceable gift from God, considering that it is responsible for regulating the climate in the world; its biosystems are a global dispensation of water, food and energy. In the current conditions, with so many attacks on this territory , it is taking an infinite course. A lot of scientific information constantly warns that the planetary balance also depends on the health of the Amazon", reads the publication sent to Fides by REPAM.
"Querida Amazonia", continues to ask for the commitment of all to "amazonize ourselves"; term used to share with the entire Bolivian Church and with the entire planet the values of a region that has much to share, especially the teachings of coexistence without destruction, in a reciprocal relationship that represents the long-dreamed "integral ecology".
