Fès (Agenzia Fides) - An afternoon to 'offer a smile' to the many children of African immigrants with their mothers: this is the initiative proposed on the occasion of this Christmas by the Association of Sub-Saharan Medical Students, (AETEM), together with movement of African Catholic university students Solidarité Etudiants Fès to the local Caritas and with the help of the Catholic community. Toys, food for children and above all a welcoming and serene space in the Charles de Foucauld room of the Parish of Fès, where Father Matteo Revelli, of the Society for African Missions works.
The missionary wrote to Agenzia Fides: "This year, Baby Jesus was born in advance at the time of Covid, with a health mask. In this way, it was easy to present to the many immigrant Muslims the meaning of the birth of a truly incarnate Jesus: the gesture was understood and appreciated by all. It was a beautiful festive experience that students and mothers have decided to repeat every year. May Jesus be born in our hearts - concludes Fr. Matteo. His mask increases the sense of total belonging to humanity that suffers and hopes". (MR/AP) (Agenzia Fides, 22/12/2020)
