San Felipe (Agenzia Fides) - The Pastoral Council of the Diocese of San Felipe (Valparaíso, Chile), chaired by the Bishop, Mgr. Gonzalo Bravo Álvarez, appoints Sister Nelly León, as "Episcopal Delegate for General Pastoral Care". The aim is to continue the process of pastoral renewal in the diocese.
Sister Nelly León of the Congregation of the Good Shepherd has been the chaplain of the San Joaquín Women's Prison and the Valparaíso Penitentiary since 2005. For two years she has lived in the city of San Felipe, in the Spirituality Center of her congregation.
The diocesan bishop, Mgr. Gonzalo Bravo, thanked the priest Vicente Montenegro Lazo for the service rendered over the past few years, which encouraged the development of pastoral guidelines for the years 2018-2022 and the process of discernment and ecclesial renewal in its final phase. "The service that Sister Nelly will render in the diocese will be that of coordinating the work of the various episcopal delegations and to promote spaces in which everyone can use their talents and abilities in different pastoral contexts at the service of the kingdom of God" concludes the statement.
