Brescia (Agenzia Fides) - Next Saturday, October 10th, there will be a conference entitled "Missione Oggi" (English: Mission Today) in Brescia, organized on the initiative of the Xavier Missionaries magazine, on the reform of the Church in a missionary key, which since the election of Pope Francis has returned to the center of the ecclesiastical debate.
The conference will be opened by the editor of Missione Oggi, Mario Menin. This will be followed by a contribution by Franco Ferrari on the figure of Francis as Pope of Reform. Theologian Roberto Repole, of the Faculty of Theology in Turin, former President of the ATI (Italian Theological Association) will speak about Francis' dream of a missionary Church". The morning will end with a discussion forum.
In the afternoon, theologian Serena Noceti of the Higher Institute for Religious Studies in Tuscany will speak about reform with a view to women's participation: "Women, ministries and reform of the Church". This will be followed by the contribution by Mauro Castagnaro, specialist journalist from Latin America on the subject of "Reform from the South of the World" and by Mgr. Paolo Giulietti, Archbishop of Lucca on the subject of "Signs of missionary reform in the local Churches - My experience as Bishop". Finally, Sister Virginia Isingrini, who works as a missionary sister of the Xaverians and trained psychologist in Mexico, and Paolo Boschini, professor of philosophy at the Theological Faculty of Emilia Romagna in Bologna and parish priest in Modena, will speak.
