AFRICA/BURKINA FASO - Appointment of the Rector of the Saint Jean-Baptiste major Seminary in Ouagadougou

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On 13 May 2020 Cardinal Luis Antonio G. Tagle, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, appointed Fr. Valentin Dabiré, of the diocesan clergy of Diébougou as Rector of the Saint Jean-Baptiste de Wayalghin inter-diocesan major Seminary, in the archdiocese of Ouagadougou, in Burkina Faso.
The new Rector was born on February 13, 1970 in Ouessa, Burkina Faso. After primary school, he continued his studies at the Immaculé Conception minor Seminary in Naxos, then studied philosophy at the Saint Jean-Baptiste major Seminary in Wayalghin, and theology at the Saint Pierre Claver major Seminary in Koumi. He received his baccalaureate in Theology at the Pontifical Urbaniana University in Rome; a licentiate in Moral Theology at the San Paolo Theological Study in Catania (Italy); a doctorate in moral Theology at the Urbaniana.
