Caracas (Agenzia Fides) - On Wednesday 8 July, the leaders of the missionary and elderly sick groups from Venezuela, Colombia and Mexico will have a virtual meeting to share the work they will do during the confinement due to the pandemic.
The national network of sick and elderly missionaries (RENAE) in Colombia, and the EMU (Union of Missionary Patients) in Mexico, together with the missionary group of the sick and elderly (AMDEAM) in Venezuela, have agreed to work together on their mission projects during the second half of this year, according to a note sent to Fides by the PMS of Venezuela. The objective they propose is to devise pastoral planning according to reality.
For its part, AMDEAM, which recently celebrated its 35th anniversary, published a thanksgiving letter to the diocesan Mission Directors for all the contributions made during this celebration. In Latin America, work with the sick has taken on a missionary dimension thanks to the hard effort of the Pontifical Mission Societies in this continent. It can be said that in every Latin American country there is a large number of sick missionaries who have created a movement within the PMS to continue their work of evangelization even during illness.
