Nehuentue (Agenzia Fides) - Since fishermen, divers and their families are already part of the tradition of the coastal sector of La Araucanía, together with the community of San Roque de Nehuentue, de la Costa de Trovolhue, of the Diocese San José de Temuco , celebrated the annual feast of St. Peter. But this year, with a different character due to the pandemic situation.
Organized by the group of fishermen and gleaners of seafood of Nehuentue and with all the relevant authorizations from the Carabineros and the captain of the port of Nehuentue, when Fr. Patricio Gutiérrez arrived at the pier, he prayed for the whole community.
Jorge Nieto Valenzuela, president of the fishermen and gleaners of seafood of Nehuentue, said: "This celebration was very different from previous years in the city of Nehuentue, all because of what is happening in the world with the pandemic, but we continue with the tradition. We thank the people who continue to take care of themselves, since here we have not had any infection".
Chile has suffered a lot during the pandemic due to the political and social situation that the country has been experiencing, even before the pandemic broke out. However, there are places where quarantine is helping to have no contagion among the population, one of these places is Nehuentue.
