ASIA/THAILAND - Appointment of the National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies, Fr. Paul Trairong Multree

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On April 18 2020, Cardinal Luis Antonio G. Tagle, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, appointed Fr. Paul Trairong Multree, of the Ratchaburi diocesan clergy, a member of the Thai Missionary Society as National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) in Thailand, for a five-year period (2020- 2025).
The new National Director was born in Thailand on September 7, 1976 and was ordained a priest on June 9, 2007, for the diocese of Ratchaburi, and is a member of the Thai Missionary Society.
He studied philosophy and theology at Saengtham College. He obtained his licentiate in Theology, with a specialization in pastoral liturgy, at the Santa Giustina Pastoral Liturgy Institute (Italy) and a Diploma in Vocational Formation at the Pontifical Salesian University. Among his pastoral experiences he was parish priest and vice parish priest, in Thailand and Ireland, then a missionary in Cambodia for 5 years. Since 2019 he has been Rector of the Thai Missionary Seminary and professor at Saengtham College. (SL) (Agenzia Fides, 22/6/2020)
