Friday, 20 March 2020 mercy

Vancouver (Agenzia Fides) - The devotion of Divine Mercy as family devotion in the 21st century, its meaning in the Catholic Church today and its role in the life and mission of the laity, are the topics that will be addressed in the First Regional Congress on Divine Mercy to be held in Vancouver on April 18, 2020.
Father Martin Esguerra, priest of the Identes missionary community, currently working in Rome at the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of the New Evangelization, the Dicastery in charge of promoting the Apostolate of Mercy in the world for the whole Church.
"The challenge that this Congress wants to propose to all Christian families is to know, live and share mercy", writes Fr. Martin, whom Pope Francis had named 'Missionary of Mercy' in March 2019.
The Congress Prayer hopes that the participants will become "joyful missionary disciples" who become "instruments of mercy" of God through their "eyes, ears, tongue, hands, feet and heart everywhere and always". (ME/AP) (Agenzia Fides, 20/3/2020)
