Maracaibo (Agenzia Fides) - As part of the various initiatives planned for National Youth Day (JNJ), which is celebrated in Venezuela on the Sunday closest to February 12, youth missionary groups from the parishes of the archdiocese of Maracaibo took part in the Saturday Missionary Youth (SAJUMI), which took place on February 15 in the church of San Martin de Porres. According to the information sent to Fides, the day was marked by various formative, recreational, prayer, reflection and evangelization activities. The event was attended by over one hundred young people from different communities who share the charism of the Missionary Animation and Cooperation Service, Jovenmision. The major Seminary of Maracaibo also carried out evangelization and brotherhood initiatives through sports activities.
The Youth Ministry of the Archdiocese of Maracaibo celebrated the 13th National Youth Day (JNJ) through numerous activities that took place in the parishes, according to the motto chosen by the Youth Ministry of Venezuela: "Young Venezuelan, Christ lives and loves you alive!", which was accompanied by the biblical quotation of the Annunciation: "For nothing will be impossible for God" (Lk 1:37).
All the priests were invited to celebrate this Day in each parish during the Sunday Eucharist of February 16, following the indications of a guiding aid, so that this intention of the Church of Venezuela was present in the liturgy and the faithful were motivated to collaborate with their prayer and a special collection for the work carried out by the Youth Ministry in the country. National Youth Day is a space dedicated to young people for listening, reflection, sharing of experiences and celebratory moments. (SL) (Agenzia Fides, 19/2/2020)
