ASIA/INDIA - Appointment of the Rector of the "Christ the King" interdiocesan theological Seminary in Karachi

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On 14 September 2019 Cardinal Fernando Filoni, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, appointed rev. Kamran Taj, of the clergy of the diocese of Faisalabad, as Rector of the "Christ the King" interdiocesan theological Seminary in the archdiocese of Karachi, India.
The new Rector was born on 25 December 1973 and was ordained a priest in 2001. He studied theology at the Pontifical Urbaniana University, was parish priest in the diocese of Hyderabad from 2001 to 2005. In 2007 he graduated in philosophy at Urbaniana university. In the following years he was chaplain of a nursing home and assistant priest in the diocese of Rome. In 2010 he was appointed parish priest of Our Lady of Mercy; in 2013 assistant parish priest of the Cathedral of Faisalabad and at the same time personal secretary of the Bishop; in 2014 Rector of St. Thomas Minor Seminary in Faisalabad; in 2017 member of the executive committee of Caritas Faisalabad and Vicar general of the diocese.
