AFRICA/IVORY COAST - Appointment of the National Director of the PMS, Fr. Jean Noël Gossou

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On January 6, 2019, Cardinal Fernando Filoni, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, appointed the rev. Fr. Jean Noël Gossou, of the clergy of the diocese of Yopougon, as National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) in the Ivory Coast for five years (2019-2024).
The new National Director was born on December 20, 1971 and was ordained a priest on December 21, 2002 in the Cathedral of Yopougon. Since his ordination, he has carried out the pastoral ministry care in some parishes and, since 2006, in the diocese of Palermo (Italy). In 2009 he obtained a licentiate and in 2013 a doctorate in pastoral theology at the Pontifical Theological Faculty of Sicily, in Palermo. In 2010 he received a Master's degree in bioethics, in Palermo. From 2014 to 2018 he was Diocesan Director of the PMS, Catholic Action and the Apostolate of the Laity.
