Warsaw (Agenzia Fides) - For the first time in history, the Star Singers, the children of the Pontifical Holy Childhood Society (MCA), visited the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies of the Polish Republic. On January 16, in fact, they were welcomed by the Marshal of the Polish Senate, Stanislaw Karczewski, according to information sent to Agenzia Fides by the National Directorate of the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) of Poland.
The president of the Polish Senate, after welcoming the children, said: "Thank you for coming and for your example of commitment to children all over the world". The children, who brought to the Senate the good news of Jesus, came from Gliwice-Bojkowo, from an elementary school, and were accompanied by their religion teacher, Christopher Kruszyński, by Mgr. Tomasz Atłas, National Director of the PMS, and Anna Sobiech, National Secretary of MCA. They represented a large group of Holy Childhood from the parish of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary in Gliwice, where for 10 years they have been helping their peers in various countries of the world through the Pontifical Mission Societies.
The young missionaries spoke about their commitment to help children in Rwanda and in Burundi this year, and about the miracle of Christmas: "It is necessary to stretch out one’s hand to make peace, to share one’s goods with the poor and support others in their needs".
Little Martynka, dressed as an angel, added with conviction: "We feel this power to help! And we are witnesses and bearers of miracles happening with the Pontifical Mission Societies!".
At the end of the performance, the children gave the Marshal a small souvenir of the meeting, with a message of peace and good wishes. On this occasion all the participants visited the seat of the Parliament and the national headquarters of the Pontifical Mission Societies. (SL) (Agenzia Fides, 21/1/2019)
