Wednesday, 5 December 2018

Aparecida (Agenzia Fides) – An intervention by the Archbishop of Aparecida, Mons. Orlando Brandes, opened in Brazil the first Congress of missionary communicators with the slogan “Evangelizing on the new Media frontiers ”.

If the microphone is not working it will be useless to speak because people at the back will not be able to hear, this happens with the new media".
The Archbishop replying to questions said the call made by Pope Francis must spark new commitment from everyone particularly in preparation for the next Church world events, which must involve all the local realities parishes, dioceses, etc.
The Congress, opened on 3 December and will close on Friday 7 December. In the mornings about 50 participants attend conferences in the mornings and workshops in the afternoons. Evenings will be devoted to reflection and sharing experiences on the issues presented. In this space in the first two evenings, everyone was surprised by the rich content of contributions, the great faith of the people, and the impressive use of the new media even in outlying places thanks to the internet.
