Azogues (Agenzia Fides) - "Our apostolate is the mission Ad Gentes, in particular the evangelization of young people", says to Agenzia Fides Juan Manuel Rubín de Celis Alba, national coordinator of the "Movimiento Juventud Católica México" (JUCAMÉX), which is located in the diocese of Azogues, in Ecuador, from 17 April to 17 May, to lead the first training seminar on leadership for the youth of parish communities, movements and schools of the diocese.
"Mgr. Pedro Agustín Rivera Díaz, responsible of Jucamex, and Fr. Freddy Barrera Pinos, diocesan councilor for youth ministry of the diocese of Azogues, Ecuador, invited me to take this course in order to strengthen the formation of young people in the diocese", comments to Fides Juan Manuel, and explains that in addition to holding training seminars, he has visited "different schools, holding talks on human values, which had an excellent reception" among the students.
Therefore, illustrating the methodology followed, the coordinator explains: "The workshop takes place in 4 phases, first of all young people discover the importance of taking care of themselves in order to improve themselves as leaders, then they work on how we approach others and God. The third phase is to see how to create projects for young people, set goals, have dreams, learn how to delegate, work as a team. Finally we comment on the characteristics of the good leader. "In addition, young people, as a final work of the course", prepare projects for their parish groups and present them to all participants", adds Juan Manuel, who concludes that in his opinion this methodology "has greatly helped the youth of the diocese of Azogues".
JUCAMÉX is the Catholic youth movement of Mexico characterized by a missionary spirit: its purpose is to proclaim the Gospel to the whole world, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, according to the motto: "Christ sends us and the world needs us". (LG) (Agenzia Fides, 14/5/2018)
