AFRICA/GHANA - Appointment of the Rector of "St. Victor" interdiocesan Seminary of Tamale

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On January 12, 2018 Cardinal Fernando Filoni, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, appointed rev. Msgr. Thomas T. Anamooh, of the diocesan clergy of Navrongo-Bolgatanga, as Rector of "St. Victor" Interdiocesan Seminary in the Archdiocese of Tamale, in Ghana.
The new Rector was born on 1 November 1958 in Kongo, in the Upper East Region.
After his primary studies in Kongo and Nangodi, and secondary studies in Navrongo and Lawra, he entered the St. Victor's Seminary in Tamale, where he studied philosophy and theology. He was ordained a priest on July 30, 1988 for the diocese of Navrongo-Bolgatanga. He obtained a licentiate and doctorate in theology at the Catholic University of Louvain and a Master in Library Studies at the University of Ghana. He was vice parish priest (1988-1989), formator and teacher (1996-2006) and vice-rector (2001-2006) at St. Victor's Seminary. From 2006 to 2009 he was vicar general of the diocese of Navrongo-Bolgatanga, and subsequently diocesan administrator (2010-2011). (SL) (Agenzia Fides, 27/3/2018)
