AFRICA/MALI - Appointment of the Rector of "Saint Augustin" major Seminary in Bamako

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - Cardinal Fernando Filoni, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, appointed rev. Florent Kone, of the diocesan clergy of San, as Rector of "Saint Augustin" National Major Seminary in the Archdiocese of Bamako (Mali).
The new Rector was born on February 17, 1969 in Manina, into a deeply Christian family. After his primary school studies in Bénéna, he attended the minor Seminary of Togo, the Pius XII intermediate Seminary in Bamako and then the Saint Augustin major Seminary. He was ordained a priest on September 8, 1996 for the diocese of San.
After his ordination he served as vice parish priest in the parish of Sokoura. From 2005 to 2011 he studied Liturgy and Sacred Music in Rome, obtaining a Doctorate in Liturgy. Since 2011 he was a formator and liturgical teacher and teacher at Saint Augustin Seminary. (SL) (Agenzia Fides, 06/12/2017)
