Coatzacoalcos (Agenzia Fides) - "We must try to make sure that this justice is not blind and takes into account the social conditions of people, otherwise these institutions completely lose their credibility", emphasized the Bishop of the diocese of Coatzacoalcos, Mgr. Rutilo Muñoz Zamora. The note sent to Fides reports Mgr. Muñoz Zamora’s statement made yesterday with regards to the release of a known criminal linked to a gang, that had been stopped on August 7 and was released on the 24th.
According to the local press, this topic has generated many discussions.
The Bishop emphasized that this kind of situation is a reflection of what is happening at all levels of society, where justice is not applied equally: "Impunity exists, it is a scourge, it is a very strong evil". Mgr. Muñoz Zamora added that the right paths must be found so that no one can draw justice to his side as it would create chaos and said that the work of the Catholic Church regards conversion, forgiveness and justice .
