Ouagadougou (Agenzia Fides) - A workshop on the establishment of a Caritas national solidarity fund is being held in Ouagadougou, at the Center for Integral Human Development, to address the various crises and natural catastrophes that Burkina Faso periodically has to face. As pointed out by the Episcopal Conference of Burkina Faso, what emerged is that as far as the Church in Burkina is concerned, there is no mechanism for managing such situations, therefore it is necessary to think about how to intervene in humanitarian crises in a rapid and immediate manner, especially towards the most vulnerable and victims. Moreover, the creation of this solidarity fund is part of the dynamics of self-management of the local Church. These are the reasons that led to the organization of this seminar, which takes place from July 5 to 7, with representatives of the various dioceses of the country and of the various national ecclesiastical structures. After exchanging experiences of mobilization of the local resources within the Church, participants will point out a strategy for the implementation of this fund and the roadmap for the next steps.
