Beirut (Agenzia Fides) - Maronite Patriarch Bechara Boutros Rai will travel to the Portuguese Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima to consecrate Lebanon and the Middle East to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The act of consecration - refer sources of the Maronite Patriarchate - will take place during the eucharistic liturgy that the Primate of the Maronite Church will preside in the Portuguese Shrine on Sunday June 25th. The Sunday liturgical celebration will be the culmination and conclusion of "Lebanon Day in Fatima", which will begin on Saturday June 24 with the recitation of the Rosary and the procession of the faithful with candles.
Over the last four years, Patriarch Rai had already presided in the month of June the Consecration of Lebanon and the Middle East to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, celebrated in Lebanon, at the Marian Shrine of Harissa. On such occasions, during the solemn act of consecration, he had prayed for all the peoples of the region to be freed from the scourge of wars and violence. (GV) (Agenzia Fides, 21/6/2017)
