Accra (Agenzia Fides) - "Cruel way of treating human beings must stop now: I have never seen anything like that. I pray for the soul of Capt. Mahama", said His Exc. Mgr. Charles Palmer-Buckle, Archbishop of Accra and Vice President of the Episcopal Conference of Ghana, who led a delegation to visit the family of Captain Maxwell Adams Mahama, of the 5th infantry battalion, at Burma camp, in the Central Region.
The delegation included the secretary general of the National Catholic Secretariat and the Communication director of the department of social communication. Msg. Palmer-Buckle promised the family of the church’s support in the up-bringing of the two children.
The 32-year-old Captain was lynched to death on the morning of Monday, 29th of May, 2017 on his usual jogging. Two women claimed they were convinced he was an armed robber. The community members in Denkyira Boase in the Central region lynched the the young military officer in cold blood. In relation to his death the police have arrested at least 17 people.
"The Christian Community now has a role to play in sanitizing the Country to become beautiful and form the consciousness of Ghanaians to respect each other.
