La Guajira (Agenzia Fides) - Between 14 and 20 May eight new cases of deaths were reported for malnutrition and, according to the National Institute of Health, 40% of them in Chocó and la Guajira. In the departments of Córdoba, Meta and Nariño, the percentage of these premature deaths has reached 75%. Among the people affected there are Indigenous, Afro-Colombians, and children under one year of age. The department where the lowest rate of malnutrition is recorded is Antioquia.
