Kofale (Agenzia Fides) – Rahma Chota Tusa has won the Rome female Marathon for two years running. Rahma was born in Kofale, Ethiopia, where she grew up and trained at the Catholic Mission Sports Centre in Kofale (see Agenzia Fides 6/8/2016), until only a few years ago when she moved to the athletics team in Adama. “Rahma is one of 25 international level athletes who come from our breeding ground, she grew up with us and now lives in Addis Ababa” Fides learned from Fayisa Gameda, Director of the Catholic Secretariat of Robe. “As soon as she came back after winning this year's Rome marathon on 2 April, Rahim came to see us and the atheltes, to thank the Kofale Catholic Mission for its support and discuss how the organisation of this sports breeding ground can be improved ” Faysa told Fides. At the end of the recent race in Rome a local Italian pressman asked what she intended to do next: “Come back to Rome and win a third time next year” Rahma replied without hesitation.
