AMERICA/DOMINICAN REPUBLIC - A survey on corruption on Twitter, to allow the community to reflect

Monday, 27 March 2017

Bani (Agenzia Fides) - The Bishop of the Diocese of Bani, Dominican Republic, His Exc. Mgr. Victor Emilio Masalles Pere launched a survey in which he asked: "Do you agree with Mgr. Víctor Masalles that the fight against impunity in the country is already lost?". The first to vote was the Bishop himself: "This is my answer: no".
The survey, released via his Twitter account: @VictorMasalles, was posted on March 15, and with its more than 9,000 followers, Mgr. Masalles wanted to try a new way to allow the community to reflect on the social and political reality of the country.
It is not the first time that Mgr. Masalles addresses the community using the new social networks, reports the note sent to Fides from a local source. On 20 March, he wanted to revive some excerpts of an interview about the corruption that exists in the country, which says among other things: "the culture that exists in the country is to hide and not to deal with things", "the population must be critical towards society and rulers".
