Stuttgart (Agenzia Fides) - From 7 to 9 October, the Center of Spirituality of the Scalabrini Missionaries in Stuttgart, hosted the annual Scalabrini-Fest of Fruits, 2016, with the collaboration of the Scalabrinian Secular Missionaries. The title of this year's festival was "Migrants and natives: together on the move" and wanted to highlight the encounter between migrants and natives and the path we all are called to walk together to build a new future, not only for the Church and the local society, but for the whole world, troubled by conflict and injustice.
According to information sent to Fides, the festival was attended by about 280 people from 31 countries. The meeting had a formative nature and deepening of faith in the context of migration through a panel discussion, group work for youth and adults, moments of prayer, interactive workshops for children and teenagers, and a concert with music and dances of different cultures. The main representatives were Msgr. Detlef Stäps, Missionary Office Director of the Diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart; Fr. Tobias Kessler, Scalabrinian missionary who works at the Institut für Weltkirche und Frankfurt Mission and secular Scalabrinian Missionary Giulia Civitelli, doctor at the Caritas Health center for migrants in Rome. Also Scalabrinian missionaries participated: Fr. Gabriele Bortolamai (of the Center for Spirituality in Stuttgart), Fr. Antonio Bortolamai (Porto Alegre, Brazil), Fr. Sandro Curotti and Fr. Carlo Marzoli (both in Stuttgart) and Fr. Saverio Viola (from Solothurn, Switzerland). (LD-SL) (Agenzia Fides 14/10/2016)
