Michoacan (Agenzia Fides) - The Archbishop of Morelia, Card. Alberto Suárez Inda, denounced the kidnapping of a priest from Janamuato community, in the municipality of Puruándiro, in the Mexican state of Michoacan. Through a video released yesterday by the archdiocese and shared with Fides, the Cardinal complains about the kidnapping of Fr. José Alfredo Lopez Guillen, and recalls the recent killing of two priests in Papantla (see Fides 20/09/2016).
"Now we experience firsthand the anguish over the disappearance and abduction of one of our priests, Fr. Jose Alfredo Lopez Guillen" said the Cardinal. "We ask God to respect his integrity, his life and that he may soon return to 'exercise his ministry". Then he informs that the priest was kidnapped on Monday, September 19, on the same day when the other two priests in the state of Veracruz were found dead, and that many things were stolen from his home. Even the Mexican Bishops' Conference has denounced the disappearance and ask the Catholic community to pray. (CE) (Agenzia Fides, 23/09/2016)
