Potosì (Agenzia Fides) - In all of Bolivia, which has over 10 million inhabitants, more than 50,000 families live in extreme poverty and wish to leave the country in search of a decent life. This is what a local organization that grouped the poor families of the city of Potosì denounces. During a recent demonstration in the streets of the city, the citizens asked for social housing and better job opportunities. "It is a true emergency", said the statement sent to Agenzia Fides. "The Government says that in Bolivia there are no poor people, and during the process of political change we were discriminated and our needs were forgotten. We are people without employment opportunities, live crammed into a room. If our demands are not accepted, all poor families will ask for refuge in other Countries, that guarantee decent housing and the necessary food". (AP) (Agenzia Fides 21/09/2016)
