El Paso (Agenzia Fides) - "Meetings without walls, a march for families" is the slogan of the event which takes place today, 19 September, in El Paso, organized by the Border Network for Human Rights.
The note sent to Fides informs that the march is one of the events organized to denounce border and immigration policies that have separated hundreds of thousands of families, and to ask for a fair immigration reform. The march will start from San Jacinto Square at 9 am and will end at the Cleveland Square Park, in front of a large panel which through images, letters and collage will highlight the plight of family separation caused by current immigration policies.
Several organizations, such as the Border Network for Human Rights, have been calling for a global immigration reform, so that the right to citizenship for 11 million undocumented people already living and working in the United States is recognized (see Fides 08/02/2016 and 18/04/2016).
