Asuncion (Agenzia Fides) - The X Meeting of the Latin American and Caribbean Basic Ecclesial Communities (CEB) opened yesterday, September 13, in Luque in Paraguay.
The delegates of the CEB across the continent will participate in the meeting until September 17 that wants, among other things, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the recognition of CELAM (Latin American Episcopal Council) of this ecclesial reality.
"The central objective is to restore meaning and re-found the CEB, to walk in the current signs of time, and exchange experiences for the future", says the statement of the Bishops' Conference of Paraguay, which hosts this celebratory meeting, sent to Fides.
The display of the history of the Basic Ecclesial Communities includes a presentation divided in decades and country. The current reality of the CEB will be addressed from a biblical, theological and sociological perspective. Some criteria to ensure the peaceful coexistence of the CEB in the Church and in society will be proposed. This methodology will be based on the criterion "See-Think-Act".
