Brasilia (Agenzia Fides) - On the occasion of the International Day of South-South Cooperation, the Latin America and Caribbean free of child labor Regional Initiative (IR) has introduced its new virtual platform: www.iniciativa2025alc.org, a tool that will enable various stakeholders to interact and work for the prevention and eradication of child labor. It was designed to be a space for reflection, exchange among all operators in the public, private sectors and civil society engaged in the region.
Among the various resources, the new website offers a useful practical recording system for the prevention and eradication of the phenomenon, a map of institutions that fight against child labor at a regional level, a web application on the acceleration factors for the reduction of child labor in the region. The IR, intergovernmental cooperation platform formed by 26 countries, was founded thanks to the initiative of a group of Latin American and Caribbean countries during the Third World Conference on Child Labour, which took place in Brazil in 2013.
