San Juan (Agenzia Fides) - His Exc. Mgr. Jorge Lozano, former Bishop of the Diocese of Gualeguaychú, has been the focus of media attention this week for two different reasons: the Pope named him Archbishop coadjutor with right of succession of San Juan de Cuyo, and President Mauricio Macri, publicly said that at the origin of the anti-narco plan launched last week and proposed three years ago, there was a multi-party commitment to combat the scourge of drugs and Mgr. Lozano, as head of the Social Pastoral, has been called to give his contribution.
For the occasion Mgr. Lozano, in a brief interview to a national newspaper sent to Fides, reports that the previous government minimized the serious problem and openness to dialogue on behalf of the current authorities must mean a serious commitment to this work.
On the subject of dialogue Mgr. Lozano stated that "Dialogue is not a sign of weakness but of strength and generosity.
We must also say that dialogue does not mean to govern together. The role and responsibility of each person must remain clear".
Regarding the anti-drug plan called "Argentina sin narcotráfico", Mgr. Lozano noted that "these guidelines, agreed on 19 December 2013 have been very important and have been the result of work that has seen the participation of many. There was a first draft to which was added contributions, corrections, commitments. I think that more than a recognition for the Social Pastoral, it is also a recognition for the political parties that participated".
