León (Agenzia Fides) - The Diocese of León (Spain) wants to pay tribute to the 508 Leonesi missionaries who are scattered around the world by celebrating the "Diocesan Jubilee of the missionaries". The event, held as part of the Jubilee of Mercy, in León, has chosen the theme: "The faces of mercy".
His Exc. Mgr. Julian Lopez, Bishop of León, will give a welcome message to all participants in this meeting in which a group of missionaries will offer their personal testimony.
With this new edition of the 'Day of the Missionary', the Diocese of Leon wants to "pay tribute to the missionaries for their work in 54 countries around the world", there are more than 500 Leonese missionaries; the Latin American continent is home to the largest number of them (more than 350), followed by Europe, Asia and Africa.
