AMERICA/HONDURAS - Campaign on tolerance for over 250,000 children

San Pedro Sula (Agenzia Fides) - A campaign has just been launched, throughout the country, on tolerance which will involve 1,391 educational centers for seven weeks, among them 193 are in San Pedro Sula. The slogan is "Tolerance does not mean getting tired of loving, it means accepting others, knowing how to expect the best, and peace for all humanity". In a statement the Bishop of the diocese, His Exc. Mgr. Angel Garachana Perez, states that tolerance is a value which means accepting and appreciating others who are different from us. The Bishop, according to information sent to Fides, also showed that we should not consider ourselves enemies. The coordinator of the campaign said that in the coming weeks several activities on tolerance will be carried out. There are 39,000 children in San Pedro Sula who will participate with their 1,493 teachers. Six dioceses joined at a national level. In all there will be 276,500 children and 12,000 teachers.
