Lima (Agenzia Fides) - The phenomenon of child labor in the agricultural sector continues to be one of the emergencies in the Country. Thanks to an initiative promoted by the local Labor Ministry, the Project "Semilla" has been launched with the aim of strengthening public policies of the National Strategy for the Prevention and Eradication of Child Labour (ENPETI).
The initiative takes place in rural areas of Huancavelica, Junín and Pasco regions. The project is part of the actions carried out by ENPETI with the aim of reducing the risk of child labor in agriculture.
Thanks to an awareness strategy, families are made aware of the risks and decide to withdraw their children from hazardous work. (AP) (Agenzia Fides 20/06/2016)
