Panama (Agenzia Fides) - "Child Labour Forget it!" is the title of the 2016 campaign against child labor, which is part of a program to make Panama a free Country from this social scourge.
The aim is to sensitize everyone to join in this struggle. Television and radio spots will be broadcast in all media in June, said Month Against Child Labour. According to information sent to Fides, Panama has made great strides with working children, managing to recover about 24,000, and placing them in programs and government projects, as indicated by the latest 2014 Survey on Child Labour, organized with the support of the Ministry of Work for Development together with the Secretariat for Childhood, Adolescence and Family. The International Labour Organization reported that Panama is emerging as one of the first Countries to be declared free from child labor in the coming years. (AP) (Agenzia Fides 06/06/2016)
