Shi Jia Zhuang (Agenzia Fides) - During the Eucharistic liturgy of the Solemnity of Pentecost celebrated in the parish of Xiao Dian, 62 faithful delivered a copy of the Gospel of St. Mark that everyone had transcribed by hand, to their Bishop, His Exc. Mgr . Paul Meng Ning You, ordinary of the Archdiocese of Tai Yuan in Shan Xi province, mainland China. This group of faithful had begun their work at Easter, to emphasize, through the transcription of the Gospel, the desire to meditate, deepen and incarnate the Word of God in life.
According to information sent to Agenzia Fides, this is one of many initiatives that marked the solemn celebration of Pentecost, on Sunday, May 15, in the sign of the Year of Mercy, in various Chinese Catholic communities.
In the parish of Xi Chang, in Jiang Xi province, after a long procession along the streets, the Eucharist was celebrated with the conferring of the missionary mandate, as the Apostles did.
The nuns of the Congregation of the Consolation of the Holy Spirit of the Diocese of Han Dan (Yong Nian) renewed their vows, according to tradition, on their patron saint's day, to have strength from the Spirit in order to continue their witness of mercy in the parish and in the diocese.
In the parish of St. John in Yi Zhuang, of the Archdiocese of Beijing, the faithful shared a moment of agape after Mass, therefore 11 faithful, led by the pastor, went to the Cathedral where they received Confirmation.
In the parish of Wu La Te Hou Qi, Inner Mongolia, the local community gathered to celebrate the Vigil of Pentecost. During the homily, the priest encouraged all those present to be a sign of mercy and communion with the Holy Spirit, by going to church, praying more, visiting the elderly and sick ...
In many parishes of the provinces of Shan Dong, He Bei, Shaan Xi ... during the Eucharist, the Sacrament of Confirmation to young people and adults was administered. (NZ) (Agenzia Fides 18/05/2016)
