EUROPE/SPAIN - Fontilles anti-leprosy association “Act for Africa” collection in aid of healthcare programmes for Angola, Côte d'Ivoire, Ethiopia, Ghana and Rwanda

Madrid (Fides Service) - With the motto “Act for Africa, a future of health and development”, Fontilles anti-leprosy association has launched a campaign to improve the health of people so they can play an active part in the development of their country.
In Africa Fontilles is present in Equatorial Guinea where after 6 years of work it is proud of its team of Guinean professionals which monitors the situation with regard to leprosy and Buruli Ulcers.
Money collected through the campaign will be used to support health programmes in Angola, Côte d'Ivoire, Ethiopia, Ghana and Rwanda. Angola is the third worse affected country in Africa and the fifth in the world. In Rwanda the association focuses on formation of medical personnel. In Ethiopia it collaborates with Gambo Hospital in operations of re-constructive surgery. Côte d'Ivoire and Ghana are fighting Buruli Ulcer disease which affects increasing numbers of women and children.
