Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) –Cardinal Fernando Filoni, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples, on 18 September 2015, appointed Rector of the inter-diocesan Theological Seminary St. Robert Bellarmino in the diocese of Kisantu, Rev. Delvaux-Corneille Diampovisa Mbambi, of the diocesan clergy of Kisantu.
The new rector was born in Mbemba (DRC) 29 March 1964 and was ordained a priest on 29 July 1990 for the diocese of Kisantu. After attending minor seminary at Lemfu, he studied philosophy at the major seminary of Mayidi and theology at the Catholic Faculty Kinshasa, obtaining a degree in Biblical Orientation .
He has served as follows: 1991 to 1999 diocesan coordinator of Catholic Schools in Kisantu, professor at the major seminary of Mayidi, university student chaplain. He then continued his studies at the Institut catholique in Paris, obtaining a doctorate in theology in 2007. At the same time he was assistant parish priest in France. On returning back to his own country he served as Rector at the Propaedeutic Seminary Saint Pierre in Lemfu. Since 2009 he has been visiting professor at the Major Seminary in Mayidi and since 2010 diocesan coordinator of Catholic Schools in Kisantu. (SL) (Agenzia Fides 08/03/2016
