Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On October 13, 2015 Cardinal Fernando Filoni, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, appointed rev. Fr. Mallavarapu Rayanna, of the Salesian Society of Don Bosco (SDB) as Rector of "St. John" inter-diocesan Seminary in the Archdiocese of Visakhapatnam.
The new Rector was born on February 9, 1971, and was ordained a priest on 23 December 2000. He studied philosophy in Pune and theology in Meghalaya. He specialized in Pedagogy formation in Rome, at the Salesian Pontifical University. He was a professor, administrator and rector of the Seminary of Karunapuram and vice-rector, professor and dean of the Seminary in Kondadaba. (SL) (Agenzia Fides 19/02/2016)
