Pereira (Agenzia Fides) - In view of the high number of cases registered so far of people infected by the zika virus, after learning that cases are rising and after the alert launched by doctors to pregnant women, the Bishop of the Diocese of Pereira, His Exc. Mgr. Rigoberto Corredor, has urged the medical staff and citizens to have greater caution towards the virus and abortion. In a statement sent to Agenzia Fides, the Archbishop says that "if there are a number of pregnant women infected, abortion is not a solution to the virus". Mgr. Corredor has therefore urged health organizations to be prudent in the treatment of patients, because of the spread of zika and the implications in the Country. (AP) (Agenzia Fides 03/02/2016)
