Chipata (Agenzia Fides) - The holiday season and the rains which have just begun have not disturbed the renovation of the school in Nguluwe carried out by skilled workers, made available by the Chipata DEBS - District Education Board Secretary, and by the community and the surrounding villages. (see Fides 17/12/2015). The whole community have helped make the school a safe and welcoming place for their children or grandchildren: women carried the sand needed for the construction, the men removed the metal sheets, which were old, and replaced them with new ones, as well as painting the walls. Even the children worked during the delivery of materials, and they were happy to run back and forth with paint containers. Now the roof is ready, and so was the first day back to school on January 11. The entire community of Nguluwe is really proud of the outcome. (AP) (Agenzia Fides 1/2/2016)
