Istanbul (Agenzia Fides) – The "Nativity of the Shipwrecked" can still be seen at the Conventual Franciscan church of St. Anthony till February 2. The church chose to set up the Nativity scene with characters wearing the clothes of the fugitives who try to reach Greece from Turkey, and often find death. In the Nativity, besides the Holy Family - there are characters wearing muddy shoes and shorts, backpacks, plush dolls, life jackets. The representation continues to be visited by pilgrims and tourists. "We wanted to spend the Christmas season, says to Fides Fr. Iulian Pista, focusing our gaze on the Child Jesus and the tragedies that are happening. Our choice has had a major impact worldwide. We also received from Romania, which is my country, negative reactions. Obviously there is always someone who feels more Christian than Jesus, who taught us to love everyone".
